My travel writing has appeared in Afar, Fodors, Atlas Obscura, the Los Angeles Times, and many other publications. I’ve contributed to guidebooks and am a Costa Rica expert and the author of Living Abroad in Costa Rica. I’ve been featured on CNN and local TV, and on radio programs like Rick Steve’s Travel and NPR’s Perspectives. My essay, UPRIVER ONE LAST TIME, was chosen for inclusion in Best Women’s Travel Writing.

Art and culture is where you find it, whether it’s the immersive installations of Meow Wolf (Southwest Magazine), rock art in caves around the world (Fodors), the battered beauty and secret markings of container ships (Hakai Magazine), or the monumental land art of Christo and Jeanne Claude — I wrote about being part of the film crew on ‘Running Fence Revisited.’
