I’m Erin Van Rheenen, and I write about science, travel, and the arts. I’ve won awards for my fiction and nonfiction, have worked extensively as an editor and staff writer, and have taught writing in high schools, universities, libraries, and at the San Francisco Women’s Jail.

I’m the author of Living Abroad in Costa Rica, and I’ve been interviewed on CNN and local TV about Costa Rica and moving abroad in general, and on many radio shows, including Rick Steves’. I also write science curriculum and content of various stripes, often for nonprofits with an emphasis on education.  Email me for more information, or check out my LinkedIn profile .
